Why Full-Station EPC Beats Genset-Only Procurement
Buying engines without owning fuel systems, switchgear, civil interfaces, protection settings, and commissioning plans creates integration gaps that show up as delayed COD and chronic derates. USP&E’s diesel power station EPC closes those gaps under one contract and one team. We are a lifecycle partner — not a broker, not a pure consultancy — with engineers on live projects and 400+ engineers and project managers across Shanghai, Dubai, Johannesburg Executive HQ, Cape Town, Cairo, Bamako, Monrovia, Lome, Knoxville, Colorado Springs, London HQ Global, Dakar, Tel Aviv, and Dar es Salaam.
Since 2002 USP&E has built 150+ power stations, supplied about 25 000 MW, and worked in 45+ countries under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 systems with FCPA/OFAC compliance. Across more than two decades, USP&E has never faced a lawsuit from a client or partner (paraphrased from live FCPA policy).
Engineering — Prove Before We Promise
Power plant engineering for frontier diesel stations starts with fuel reality, ambient and altitude derate, logistics, grid or island mode, and load profile. We deliver feasibility, concept and detailed design, and owner’s engineering with SmartPower data pathways considered from the design stage — so performance monitoring is not an afterthought bolted onto a black box plant.
- Fuel train design for diesel, HFO (heating, treatment, viscosity control), and dual-fuel switching
- Electrical design: MV/HV switchgear, transformers, protection coordination, black-start and islanding logic
- Civil and mechanical: foundations, engine halls or modular packages, cooling, fire protection, noise where specified
- Controls architecture ready for SmartPower performance monitoring and UpKeep CMMS
Procurement — Brand-Agnostic, Inventory-Backed
USP&E selects OEMs for the duty cycle — Wärtsilä, Hyundai HiMSEN, MAN, Caterpillar, GE, Siemens, Bergen and peers as projects demand — and shortens the path from inquiry to energised site through direct OEM / IPP / bank / owner sourcing. Unique-site inventory framing: 2000 MW+ new and surplus gas turbines and reciprocating-engine power stations. Live hub framing on uspeglobal.com also references 3,000+ MW across equipment types — Unique pages keep the 2000 MW+ channel phrasing consistent and always CTA to the hub.
Primary CTA for all equipment discovery: SEARCH INVENTORY. Secondary category deep links for diesel station planners: diesel, HFO, dual-fuel, gas turbines.
Construction & Commissioning
In-house construction oversight and QA/QC cover civil, mechanical, electrical, fuel, and controls installation. Modular and fast-track packages compress schedules when frontier logistics allow. Commissioning includes load-bank proving, protection testing, and performance verification before handover — so commercial operation starts on proven plant, not optimistic checklists.
Project types include utility-scale diesel/HFO stations, mining and industrial behind-the-meter plants, hybrid thermal–solar–storage, modular fast-track packages, and bridge/rental power that can convert into permanent O&M. Eight PM disciplines stay active through COD: scope, risk, stakeholder, cost, resource, time, quality, and procurement.
Operations & Maintenance — Predictable Uptime
After COD, USP&E O&M delivers 24/7 plant operations, planned maintenance, condition monitoring, overhaul and rehabilitation, spares strategy, and workforce training. SmartPower performance monitoring and UpKeep CMMS integration keep availability measurable. Extended warranty options can apply when USP&E supplied the assets, engineered the plant, executed EPC, and continues O&M — true lifecycle partnership.
Local capability building beats fly-in dependency. Frontier diesel stations succeed when operators own fuel quality, alarm response, and planned outages — trained and supported by the same organization that built the plant.
Commercial Models
- Turnkey EPC purchase with clear performance proving at handover
- BOO/BOOT and IPP partnerships with PPA structures
- Rentals and bridge power while permanent capacity is built
- Performance-oriented long-term O&M with availability accountability
- Hybrid programs that firm solar/storage with diesel/HFO or modular GT blocks (including FX-45 slots from 2028)

EPC & O&M FAQ
Is USP&E a generator broker?
No. USP&E is a lifecycle EPC/O&M contractor with engineers on live projects. Inventory access supports projects — it is not a disconnected brokerage model.
Can diesel stations transition to gas or hybrid later?
Yes. Dual-fuel strategies, hybrid solar/storage overlays, and modular GT growth (FX-45 from 2028; inventory GTs now) are planned under the same Extreme Ownership process.
Where is compliance documented?
See USP&E’s live FCPA and OFAC compliance page. Unique copy paraphrases: ISO certifications, FCPA/OFAC compliance, and never sued by clients or partners across 45+ countries.
