Diesel Power Station

Power station projects and case studies

Real diesel and HFO plants, delivered by USP&E teams in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Stations we have built and kept running

Behind every diesel or HFO station is a long list of decisions: engines, fuel handling, switchgear, crews and spares. These projects show how USP&E has handled them. The figures come from USP&E project records and published case studies, and each job had a single accountable team.

A station that moved country

Not every project starts with a new engine. USP&E also moved an HFO power plant of about 8 MW, built on a Cat MaK 16/32, from the UAE to Mali. The package weighed about 100 tonnes, and it is a good example of how a used station can serve a second owner in a new market.

What these projects have in common

  • One accountable team: engineering, supply, construction and commissioning under a single contract.
  • Engines matched to fuel and site: MAN, HHI, Cummins and Caterpillar units chosen for the fuel and conditions on the ground.
  • Operations in mind from day one: crews, spares and records planned before the first start.
